About this Course

Our 5-day Leadership for Healthcare programme is tailored to address the particular challenges of leading people and organisations in the residential and home care sector. For this purpose, it offers practical approaches to applying leadership and management principles and practice that will facilitate you to lead, manage and support your teams to effective outcomes in the delivery of person-centred care.

While the exact requirements for an “appropriate qualification” are not specified in HIQA’s Standards and Regulation Handbook (Standard 7.2), this program has been widely accepted within the sector since 2010 and meets the conditions for the Person In Charge from HIQA’s perspective.

Adequate Leadership for Healthcare Settings

The course is aimed at equipping participants with crucial skills for managing care settings for older persons. Upon completion, learners will henceforth be able to adapt their management style to meet national quality standards, ensuring effective governance and organisation within the care facility.

Develop the capacity to build high-performing teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and proactively address issues impacting residents and clients. Additionally, the course covers coaching, staff management systems, delegation, and employment law relevant to the care sector.

Delivered virtually over five days with webinars, assessment includes a learner record and skills demonstration, finally leading to a QQI Level 6 Leadership component award upon successful completion.
