About this Course
LHP Skillnet commissioned the RCSI Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery to develop this Infection Prevention & Control programme specifically for nurses working within Long-Term Residential Care Facilities (LTRCF).
The aim is to support nurses with continued professional development (CPD) by presenting the regulations, standards, and guidance in IPC, applicable to LTRCFs with insights from experts within the sector.
The programme was designed to be as flexible as possible, as we are mindful of the demands on nurses’ time and availability for ongoing CPD.
Effective Infection Prevention & Control Measures for Your Workplace
This course brings together key information from regulatory sources and expert bodies. The content is presented in the form of a repository, alongside presentations by experts within the sector. Our programme will enhance your ability to apply effective IPC measures within your workplace.
Self-Paced Blended Learning Enhanced by Free Masterclasses
This programme is delivered through blended learning with resources, activities, and videos available on the different themes for you to work through at your own pace on our Moodle LMS. Further included is a live virtual session where learners participate in group work and engage in peer learning.
Access to Moodle is granted for 8 weeks, and you will receive the dates of the live sessions upon your enrolment. Examine the content at your own pace and utilise the resources within the course. Upon completion, you will also have access to two complimentary masterclasses. These will focus on contemporary Infection Prevention & Control issues and give you an opportunity to network with your peers and learn from each other.
Accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
This course is accredited by the RCSI Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery with 25 CPD units. The certificate will be issued by LHP Skillnet once all themes have been 100% completed and you have participated in a live virtual session. There is no formal assessment component within the course, although there are activities and knowledge checks within some of the additional content. All learners must fully participate in the live virtual session to receive certification.
