Research Report: Teaching and learning modalities for continued professional development
Research into the experiences of healthcare workers with the various teaching and learning modalities in the long-term care setting is limited.
Leading Healthcare Providers Skillnet commissioned the European Centre of Excellence for Research in Continuing Professional Development based in the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) to conduct a study on this topic.
The aim of the study was to develop a better understanding of the attitudes and experience of healthcare workers and managers with face-to-face, online asynchronous (prerecorded), and online synchronous (live) modalities for continuing professional development working in the private LTC sector in the Republic of Ireland.
The report provides key recommendations for workforce development leaders, programme designers and trainers for the long term care sector regarding education and training.
