Course Description


AIM

This workshop will provide participants with detailed understanding of palliative and end of life care best practice care process and ensure that residents and their families are central to the provision of this care.

  • Relevant Legislation, Regulation and Guidance
  • Internal Roles and Responsibilities
  • Palliative Care Holistic Assessment
  • Identification of Stage of Illness
  • DNR’s, Advance Care Planning & Advance Care Directives
  • Communication during Palliative and End of Life Care
  • Response to Diagnosis of Dying
  • End Stage Indicators
  • Verification and Certification of Death
  • Care After Death
  • Bereavement Care


WORKSHOP DELIVERY


The workshop will be presented via Zoom, with interactive sessions and workshops provided throughout. Training will run from 10am to 3.30pm. The workshop will be delivered by a senior member of HCI’s Quality and Safety Team.  

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

PIC, Deputy PIC, CNM, Staff Nurse, HCA.


CERTIFICATION

Learners who successfully complete the workshop will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance from LHP Skillnet.


FEES

The subsidised cost of this workshop is €135 per learner for LHP Skillnet member companies. The full price is €210 per learner.

To be eligible for the subsidised price you must be working in the private healthcare sector in Ireland. Otherwise the full price applies.
