OBJECTIVES
1. Understand the importance of governance and recognise the issues that can arise from weak governance.
2. Understand the Legislation, Regulation and Guidance applicable to governance
3. Provide clarity on the trends identified within the HIQA Inspection report findings for residential care, specifically in relation to Governance and the indicators of a compliant service
4. Understand how the Registered Provider and PIC roles and responsibilities in residential care may apply to Homecare.
5. Understand the key roles and responsibilities required of the management team.
6. Understand the process flow of an effective risk management model
7. Understand the principles and requirements of the registration process as it relates to residential care
8. Understand the HIQA Inspection Process
9. Be aware of the wider remit of the Annual Quality and Safety Review to evaluation service performance (TIME DEPENDENT).
10. Be able to recognise service planning requirements, including Strategic and Operations Plans, internal audit, application of Change Management and appropriate Information Governance. (TIME DEPENDENT)
