Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

Course Description

The BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers course is designed to equip the learner with key knowledge and skills to manage life-threatening emergencies.

Course Aim

The skills taught are Adult and Paediatric CPR including two rescuer scenarios, use of the bag valve mask and barrier devices, management of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO), and of course, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

 

Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes

This course includes;

  • Adult CPR
  • Paediatric CPR
  • One and two rescuer scenarios
  • Use of bag valve mask and barrier devices
  • Management of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) and
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

At the close of the day, the successful student will receive a certificate accredited by the Irish Heart Foundation.
